JERSEY RFC meet Norfolk’s Diss RFC at St Peter tomorrow in a game which features third-place in the National London SE league against fourth from bottom.

On paper at least Jersey ought to win. Comprehensive wins against North Walsham and Sutton and Epsom and a narrow defeat to title favourites Bracknell sees the Island squad poised beneath the two teams above them. Jersey has 11 points compared to Havant’s 13 but, more tellingly, they have scored 107 points from only three games played.

No other team in the league has scored the equivalent of 36 points per game while Diss have let in 72 points so far this season and have only won once, 14-13 against Tring.

So, no matter whether Jersey win or lose, tomorrow’s game should see an awful lot of points scored and an awful lot conceded.
