NERINA Pallot is back home to launch her new British tour, which kicks off tonight at the Opera House.

And the Jersey singer-songwriter has been practising for tonight’s gig – her first in the Island for 18 months – by singing to some of her youngest fans.

Nerina, who will also take to the Opera House stage tomorrow night, returned to her primary school, St George’s Preparatory, yesterday to sing to pupils. And this afternoon, she went back to her secondary school, Jersey College for Girls, to lead a songwriting workshop for GCSE and A-level musicians.

The 34-year-old, whose third album The Graduate is released on 5 October, said that she enjoyed touring the grounds at St George’s and meeting pupils.

She will be supported by local singers for her two nights at the Opera House. Bob Vincent is playing this evening and 14-year-old Isaac Evans will perform tomorrow. Both were winners of a Channel 103FM competition judged by Nerina.
