JERSEY footballer Brett Pitman scored AFC Bournemouth’s winner again on Saturday helping his club to their best start to a season since they joined the Football League in 1923.
Pitman’s sixth goal in five games – a fantastic dipping 25-yard volley into a top right-hand corner – secured the Cherries a 1-0 League Two victory at Dean Court against Burton Albion.
Pitman told the Bournemouth Echo: ‘Nothing was said about the record before the game because the focus was just on beating Burton.
‘Reflecting on it afterwards, it’s nice to know you are part of the club’s history. I don’t think any of the lads will get too carried away by it though because promotion is our main aim.’
