A DRAGONS’ Den-style network of investors is to be set up in Jersey to help promising entrepreneurs.

London business angels firm Envestors LLP will run the scheme, which could link local businesses with big-time investors.

The company brings together entrepreneurs and business angels – wealthy individuals who invest in businesses and often offer their expertise.

Yesterday, two Envestors directors came to the Island to launch the network. Envestors founding partner Scott Haughton explained the importance of matching the right entrepreneurs with the right investors.

‘With the popularity of TV shows such as Dragons’ Den, the idea of business angels investing in companies now has a much higher profile.’
