Ovenden finishes Jersey cycling season on high note
Thursday 8th October 2009, 2:58PM BST.

Jersey Cycling Association champion Robin Ovenden
CAESAREAN Cycling Club’s Robin Ovenden completed the Jersey racing season by winning the Bouley Bay hill climb on Sunday morning.
Ovenden took the Jersey Cycling Association championship to claim his fourth title of the season following on from his three JCA time trial successes.
Ovenden crossed the finishing line in two minutes and eleven seconds and Tony Cornic’s 1980 record remained in tact as a result of the hill being wet in parts leaving corners extremely slippery to negotiate at high speed.
Ovenden won by seven seconds from CCC colleague Adam Wojkiewicz, the latter who recorded the same time of 2.18 as Vélo Sport Jersey’s Nick Le Cocq.
