Jersey Rugby Club playing against Jersey v Sutton and Epsom earlier this season
JERSEY Rugby Club, currently chasing promotion from National III South West, has the added incentive of a possible Twickenham appearance at the end of this season.
The Rugby Football Union have just announced the introduction of new cup competitions – League Champions Cups – and should Jersey win their National 3 London and South East divisional title they would qualify for a semi-final match against one of the three other regional National 3 league winners – with the two victors then gaining a Twickenham final place next May.
League winners from National II to the top regional leagues in the country now have the chance to prove that they are the best at their levels following the introduction of the new cup competitions.
Should Jersey win their Divisional title – ahead of today’s home match against Hayward’s Heath they lie in second place, but level on points with leaders Dorking – they would play against the winners from the other regions, the South East, Midlands or North.
