JERSEY Rugby Club, backed by another large, appreciative crowd at St Peter on Saturday, put on a stunning display to destroy Hayward’s Health 72-8.

The five-point victory, the fifth time they have taken a bonus point from six games played, puts them one-point clear at the top of National III South East.

It is hugely competitive league, despite the resounding nature of Jersey’s home victories to date indicating otherwise, and far tougher tests loom ahead, including this weekend’s trip to Bishops Stortford.

Bishops, although not among the pace-setters, were one of the teams who tripped Jersey’s campaign up last season and they have already beaten one of the strongest sides so far, second-placed Hertford, at home this season.

No one remains undeafeated, with the top five sides covered by just five points and all having suffered just the one defeat, with last week’s leaders Dorking crashing down to fifth position after 33-17 defeat away to Hertford on Saturday.
