AN 11th hour intervention by treasurer Adam Budworth means Jersey Nomads Football Club will fulfil their playing commitments this season.

The publicity in the Jersey Evening Post last week that Nomads might be folding resulted in outside help from Jersey Football Association officials and coaches to get Nomads some more players.

Nomads’ committee held a meeting on Monday and reporting their findings to the membership last night at an extraordinary general meeting, it was only the late intervention from Budworth that prevented the club from winding down.

Budworth agreed to take on the playing responsibilities until the end of the season subject to satisfactory attendance and commitment from the players at last nights EGM.

With over 20 players in attendance and apologies from most absent Nomads confirmed Budworth’s appointment last night.
