Jersey plays its part in global quest

JERSEY is taking part in an international campaign to bring people together to discuss justice locally and globally.
One World Week runs from 18 to 25 October in the UK, and in Jersey many events have been organised to celebrate the diversity of cultures in our communities.
Jersey One World Group organiser Maurice Lakeman said: ‘We have all got to sink our differences and face the problems together. For example, climate change. These are important things and if we do not face them it will affect future generations.’
The former chairman of Jersey One World Group said that they set up the organisation two years ago and had 100 members.
Jersey One World Group members will be giving talks to a number of schools and churches will hold services in recognition of this year’s theme, ‘Hungry for One World’.
