Saints topple Convent

Convent A, in red, were defeated 38-31
A brilliant fourth quarter performance by St Clement A brought them a 38-31 victory over title holders Convent A last night.
Sinking 16 goals in the final phase they ripped apart Convent’s slight two goal lead going into the last 15 minutes to take a step closer to this season’s Division I Dominion Winter Netball League title.
The game lived up to expectations with the lead changing hands throughout as players not only battled the pressure of this top flight clash but also a gusty wind at Les Quennevais which delayed the start of the game as the posts had to be secured.
St Clement captain Jenna Meredith said: ‘It was a brilliant game, I really enjoyed it, and although it was difficult in every quarter, we managed to pick it up when it mattered. We just didn’t give up towards the end and tried to work together, defending all the way down the court, picking up any lose balls and getting them down to our shooters.’
