Ben Murray: Weighing up his options

JERSEY Leonis ABC boxer Ben Murray is harbouring positive thoughts about turning professional after spending five days at Ricky Hatton’s gym in Hyde, Manchester, last week.

Fitness trainer Murray, an ABA semi-finalist on a number of occasions, will now sit down with his father, Alan, to discuss the financial implications as the young Jerseyman wants to continue to work and live in the Island.

Murray jnr said: ‘I thoroughly enjoyed myself in Manchester; it was a fantastic experience and amazing to working around top class professionals in the gym.
‘The Hatton family were all there too, they are a good family and they offer so much support to everybody there.

‘Ricky and I spoke and he spoke positively to me about the professional business and although there is no immediate rush I have to sit down and talk with the people around me to see if I can make it work.’
