JERSEY’S England and Great Britain hockey star Beckie Herbert is in red-hot scoring form in the England Hockey League’s Premier Division.

Leicester’s Herbert, a Commonwealth Games bronze medallist with England three years ago, is the new league’s leading scorer from open play with four and her overall total is only narrowly bettered by three others, all of whom include penalty corner conversions.

Herbert’s latest goal opened the scoring in Leicester’s tough clash away to the University of Birmingham last weekend, with a 3-2 win keeping them top of the table, three points ahead of Reading. Leicester face third-placed Slough at home this Saturday afternoon.
