Try the other end

From Madeline Bates.
THE proposed new development of the de Gruchy site in New Street could be mistaken for the new Tourism Office, which caused so much controversy, or even the front entrance of Springfield Stadium.

I find it hard to believe that the National Trust think this is in keeping with the building next door to it.

There is no similarity whatsoever. Furthermore, I think most people would agree that it is the other end of New Street which needs developing, from the Great Union Street junction up to the traffic lights at Burrard Street.

Some of the buildings are an eyesore and it seems to have become a regular route for cyclists who assume it is OK to ride the wrong way down a very busy one-way street and, when traffic approaches, just go up on to the pavement. They then expect pedestrians to step on to the road, to let them pass.
