Ellen Barr enjoying success in road races in Australia

JERSEY Spartan member Ellen Barr has enjoyed success in two road races while on holiday in Australia.

Having won the W60 age category in the Melbourne 10 km, she went on to achieve another first in the Margaret River 10 km in Perth, finishing a tough route in hot conditions in 51 min.

‘It was a nice course, but really hot – about 30 degrees – and quite undulating in parts, hard work for me,’ she said. ‘I had been running the last 4 km with this lady and just near the end, pulled away. It turned out that we were the same age, so I won the over 60 prize.

‘It was for two vouchers, one a 200 Aus dollars for a restaurant and the other 250 dollars for a sports shop – wow, what a prize!’
