A DROP in business visitors to Jersey has adversely affected air travel, according to the Economic Development Minister.
However, a rise in the number of people coming to the Island for camping and self-catering holidays has boosted sea arrivals.
Business travel is down 18 per cent compared to last year, while the number of holidaymakers has dropped by 5.8 per cent.
Although air arrivals were down 9.4 per cent in September compared to 2008, sea arrivals had a ten per cent boost from UK visitors alone.
Senator Alan Maclean said that the drop in business visitors has had an effect on air travel.
