Records tumble at Tigers’ meet

Six national qualifying times were achieved by Island swimmers at the AIB Tigers 28th annual Open Meet at Les Quennevais last weekend

AIB Tiger Tom Gallichan recorded  four of them in the 200m backstroke, the 400m and 200m freestyle and the 400m individual medley, and Emily Jacklin reached the national standard in both the 50m free and the 100m butterfly

There were also meet records from AIB Tigers Ebony Jacklin in the 50 butterfly event, 13-year-olds Giovanni Guarino in the 200 breast-stroke and Henry Job in the 100 and 200 freestyle.

Held over three days and featuring over 250 competitors from the Channel Islands and the UK, the event featured many excellent performances.

Wycombe SC took the award for top club outside the Channel Islands, giving regular visitors Truro City and LLantrisant tough competition.
