Alcoholics at home

DESPITE our vast intelligence resources and, of course, our wonderful statistical department, the same old tax increases are focused on the pint.
One can only assume that the local pubs will slowly disappear, and we will become an Island of drink-at-home alcoholics.
Perhaps the Finance Minister should work out the cost difference between treating alcoholism and how much revenue he will generate.

Well they could get some smokers back into the pubs by promoting the e-cigarette, that would help pubs out somewhat and make the streets a nicer place for all.
At home drinking will take the edge of street violence but will no doubt result in more domestic violence (often harder to get convictions).
Definitely not the way to tackle the real issue of alcoholism!

A drink is a drink is a drink.
What does it matter where that beverage is consumed?

#2 I don’t know why, but for some reason it does make a difference. There are different mentalities surrounding drinking and one of the worst is the lone, at home drinker. They are more likely to become alcoholics.
I’m sure someone, somewhere will be trying to work out why this is, but it could be as simple as the person has a problem and is drinking at home more often so it’s easier to hide just how much they are drinking?
