A HOLIDAYMAKER killed in a landslide in Tenerife on Sunday has been identified as Islander Marion O’Hara.

The 57-year-old St Martin resident, who worked at HSBC’s Library Place branch, is reported to have died instantly.

She was one of two people buried when an estimated 40 tonnes of rocks fell up to 200 feet from a cliff onto Los Gigantes beach  in the popular resort at around 3 pm.

Yesterday, the shock news of Mrs O’Hara’s death was still sinking in among both her neighbours in St Martin and colleagues at the bank.

One woman, who did not want to be named, said that she had been a neighbour and friend for 20 years. ‘She would do anything for anybody,’ she said. ‘She was just such a nice person. It is as simple as that.’
