THIS is the stunning image which has won the JEP’s My Jersey picture competition.
The picture, taken by 16-year-old Daniel King, beat off competition from 237 entries from Island photographers.
Last month we challenged readers to capture an unusual or alternative view of the Island to be in with a chance of winning a state-of-the-art £400 digital camera.
We received images of everything from green lanes to the waterfall at Plémont to boats in the harbour at Bonne Nuit.
But the Victoria College student’s image of clouds above St Ouen’s Bay was judged to be the winner of the competition, which was run in conjunction with camera retailer Fotosound.
Mr King said: ‘I am extremely delighted to have won the competition. ‘I took the picture from an old bunker in St Ouen. We recently moved from St Ouen to St John and this picture reminds me of living at my old house.’
Barry Jenkins, owner of Fotosound, who selected the winner, said: ‘It captures the spirit of natural Jersey and reminds us all of the importance of protecting our coastline.’
