A TEENAGE boy has been accused of committing 13 sexual offences against at least three young girls in Jersey.

The 17-year-old boy appeared in the Youth Court yesterday for the second time, and a further nine sexual charges, including under-age sex, gross indecency and indecent assault, were brought.

The boy, wearing a tracksuit jacket, was allowed to sit next to his mother at the front of the court instead of in the dock. Both were visibly distressed as the charges were read out and his mother left the court in tears.

Youth Panel chairman Bridget Shaw, sitting with panel members Collette Crill and Deborah Thompson, said the court had decided that the case was too serious for them to deal with and that it would be sent to the Royal Court.
