Robert Jones, restaurateur and president of the Jersey Hospitality Association
ISLANDERS who eat out should tell restaurants about booking changes as soon as possible, particularly in the run-up to the party season, according to the president of the Jersey Hospitality Association.
Restaurateur Robert Jones, who runs the Oyster Box, Castle Green and the Crab Shack, says that most people do not understand the impact that a late cancellation or change in the number of diners has on a restaurant.
He has also asked that Islanders turn up for their table at the right time to ensure good service.
Mr Jones explained: ‘If you lose people from a booking without enough notice to resell the table, the restaurant loses revenue.’
