THE tension is building for the Channel Islands Muay Thai boxers as they prepare to do battle with a Great Britain select side tomorrow.

Nine boxers from the Jersey Thai Boxing Club are on the bill, including a guest appearance from Irish Muay Thai champion Paul Kelly, while Guernsey’s Maurio Smynk takes the total number of bouts for the evening up to ten.

Exhibition matches will get the action at the Metropole Hotel under way at 6.30 pm featuring Jersey’s Stefen Rossi and Marco Ribeiro as well as Marek Kusaik and Shemi Shilt.

It is then down to 13-year-old Rory Watson to get the undercard bouts going as he takes on London’s Ryan Watson with Harry Wooley, Ben Kemish, Russ Reid and Smynk following before Shane Le Creurer takes to the ring.

This was an excellent event. Congrats to all involved. A special big ups must be given to Russ Reid who dominated his much fancied BG opponent.
