Of course Senator Syvret’s still earning his pay

From David Eves.
TO accuse Senator Stuart Syvret of no longer earning his pay, as you did in your editorial comment of 30 October, is utter nonsense, especially when members of the Council of Ministers disappear on exotic holidays during term time, when States Members already get 14 to 16 weeks off a year for designated holidays.
Senator Syvret is more than earning his pay by protesting so vigorously against the legal system in Jersey, a matter of such concern to so many Islanders, as demonstrated in the Royal Square on 2 November against the swearing-in of the new Deputy Bailiff, William Bailhache.
Despite the manner of the arrest of Senator Syvret at his home a few months ago, it is astonishing that the ‘whiter than white, holier than thou’ Home Affairs Minister, Ian Le Marquand, has had nothing to say. Or did he give this outrageous act his proverbial blessing?
