PEOPLE who are willing to regularly pray for others in need of support are being sought by a woman in the Island who is setting up a prayer chain.
Lorraine Baylee from St Martin’s Roman Catholic Church was a member of a prayer chain when living in Australia, and said that she found it to be very beneficial.
Due to be the chain’s leader, she is hoping that around 20 people from the Roman Catholic Church will become members.
She said that the chain operates by a priest or member of the public contacting the leader and informing them that someone urgently needs a prayer being said on their behalf.
Prayer requests are confidential and if any names are used it is normally just a Christian name, although prayers for the deceased usually include the full name.
• Anyone interested in joining the chain can contact Mrs Baylee on 636772.
