WHY not name our new town park after Major Peirson?
There is not much extra expense in a name. Then, at a later date, whoever wishes to can pay for a statue or plaque, either by one or more persons.

We should have a statue in the Royal Square where it took place, replacing the King George one. Why does that king deserve to be there? Major Peirson did more for us than that king did.
How about painting a copy of that famous painting ‘The Death of Major Peirson’ on the side wall of the pub (in the small cut-through by the jewellers) as a mural?
