Leadership skills for life
Friday 13th November 2009, 3:00PM GMT.
A NEW leadership scheme has been launched by the Island’s Methodist church to help young people face many of life’s challenges
The Kinetic initiative is based at St Aubin’s Methodist Church and aims to develop and release the leadership potential in young people aged from 13 upwards.
The course is a series of 12 sessions covering subjects including the character of a leader, vision and strategy, the art of communication, building a great team and managing the tough times.
Church youth worker Liz Lambotte, who runs the scheme, said: ‘We explore a host of leaders throughout the Bible and contemporary leaders who are committed to change.
‘As well as the theoretical dimension, the young people have opportunities to lead small groups and take part in a variety of team-building exercises to help them gain confidence and experience.’
Anyone wanting more information about Kinetic can call Mrs Lambotte on 07797 780155 or at lizlambotte@jerseymail.co.uk.
