Boxer shane Goggin was beaten by National Smelting Co ABC’s Terry Richards in the Western Counties Senior Novice Final on Saturday.

The Jersey Leonis ABC boxer, competing at under-69 kilos, lost out on a majority points decision after four rounds at the Redland Sports Hub event in Weymouth.

Coach Tony Burt said: ‘Shane didn’t have a very good start, he was moving well and boxing well but while he was making his opponent miss, he wasn’t paying him back so he went behind on points.

‘He tried to come back towards the second half of the bout and had a really good last round, but he left it too late.’
