Hockey: Herbert on target in league and cup for Leicester

JERSEY’S Beckie Herbert is in sizzling form at the moment, scoring two goals in two days for Leicester Hockey Club over the weekend.

The first came in Saturday’s England Hockey Premier Division clash with Olton in which Herbert scored the second goal of the match to ensure her side remain unbeaten and at the top of the table this season with a 2-0 win.

The following day the 23-year-old, now the club’s leading goal scorer, opened the scoring as Leicester went on to secure a 4-0 victory over Clifton to progress to the quarter-finals of the Women’s Cup where they next face Surbiton.
