Nick Saunders
PROFESSIONAL triathlete Nick Saunders put an incident packed year behind him to claim fourth place in the Florida Ironman.
It’s been a roller coaster of a year for the 36-year-old who not only enjoyed the high of getting married this year but also had to contend with some lows, including coming away from a serious car crash before a race in South Africa in March with minor injuries.
He also broke his collar bone after a bicycle fall during a race in Windsor in June and not forgetting his late arrival for the Jersey Triathlon which put him out of that race.
Nevertheless, the Zimbabwean-born athlete has fought back from these setbacks with the goal of finishing the year with fourth place in the Ironman race.
