Senator Ozouf Ozouf chats in Mumbai to staff at Infrasoft, an IT firm which already has links with Jersey
TREASURY Minister Philip Ozouf, who delivered a speech yesterday to leading businessmen in Mumbai, says that he is impressed by the way in which India has weathered the global economic crisis.
And he says that this makes India a particularly important business partner for Jersey and reinforces the significance of the delegation he is currently leading to Mumbai, Gurgaon and Delhi.
The Senator said: ‘What has particularly impressed me on this visit is the way India has ridden the financial crisis. In the past two days, as I have driven around Mumbai and spoken to many people, I have been struck by the fact that that India continues to grow.
‘I don’t believe that this growth has happened by accident. I believe that India is set on an exciting path and will become an even more important nation on the world stage.
‘It will be a key economic power into the future. Our delegation can assist Indian business in this development.’
