THE issue of people trafficking was raised yesterday at a demonstration in the Royal Square.
Steve Chalke, UN special adviser on community action against people trafficking, spoke at the demonstration from the balcony of the United Club in Church Street that looks onto the Royal Square.
Islanders of all ages, including 150 sixth-form students gathered to hear Mr Chalke speak.
He was in the Island to deliver a talk last night at the St Helier Methodist Centre on the issues of people trafficking and how enormous the problem is globally.
