Jersey’s men march on in cup
Monday 23rd November 2009, 3:00PM GMT.

Great play from Mike James led to Jersey opening the scoring through Tom Millar
TWO second half goals proved enough to send Investec Jersey sailing into the fourth round of the National Men’s Hockey Trophy yesterday.
After a forty-minute deadlock the Island side went ahead through Tom Millar before extending their lead thanks to captain Mark Dicker and despite a late goal from Maidenhead, secured a 2-1 win.
Having made the quarter-finals of the competition for the last two year’s Jersey remain on course to make it three in a row and coach Shelagh Herbert said that she was impressed with the team’s performance.
She said: ‘Maidenhead were tough opposition, and also quite physical, so we had to play with a good structure but also stand up to some quite rough play and keep our discipline and we did well in all these respects. The players enjoyed this match and know they produced a good performance to win it.’
