Jersey’s Matt Banahan played his part in an impressive opening for England against New Zealand at Twickenham on Saturday.
But the Bath winger, who finished the only England try scorer in the Autumn Internationals, suffered again from a lack of openings in attack as the All Blacks hit back to win 19-6.
England’s coaching staff are facing renewed criticism for their lack of invention behind the scrum, which has led to a dearth of try-scoring opportunities.
Banahan (22) has, however, scored three in five senior Test appearances, all against Argentina
