The Final Strokes team gets to work
ISLANDERS showed off their pulling power during a tug-of-war to raise funds for the Jersey Women’s Refuge.
Sixteen men’s, women’s and mixed teams battled it out at the Weighbridge in the pouring rain to show their support for the refuge, which recently revealed it is facing a financial crisis.
Following two and a half hours of fierce competition on Saturday afternoon, the all-male Final Strokes team beat the female GI Janes team in the final.
However, the charitable champions then handed the trophy over to the hard-working GI Janes.
