JERSEYBORN Southampton Football Club utility player Jack Boyle will know in the next few days if he is to undergo a second hernia operation this season.
The 19-year-old, man-of-the-match in last season’s Muratti Vase final, will find out this week if his two weeks of intensive work in the gymnasium have helped him overcome the problem, or if he will require further surgery.
Boyle, who was at St Peter on Saturday watching Jersey Scottish, said, on Sunday: ‘I’ll be training today and tomorrow and there is a reserve team game on Wednesday which I am hoping to be fit to play in.
‘The operation in September was a success but it’s the other side now that has been giving me the pain but hopefully the work I’ve done on the core muscles have strengthened the area and I’ll not need another op’ .
