Luke Huelin in action for Hampshire U16s
JERSEY RFC Academy under-16 scrum-half Luke Huelin has been selected for London and South East Divisional trials.
This follows the youngster’s performance for Hampshire U16s against Essex at Old Brentwoods RFC on Sunday, which ended in a 10-10 draw.
Huelin started Sunday’s match, the final fixture of the county season, at scrum-half and helped Hampshire dominate the opening quarter with some good box kicks. Missed penalties failed to put Hants well clear and their 5-0 half-time advantage was overturned by their hosts in the second half. But Hants rallied to tie the fixture in a spirited fixture.
The Divisional trials, to be held in St Alban’s on Sunday, are for 90 players selected from the eight London and South East counties.
