Brett Pitman, the main striker at Bournemouth
JERSEYMAN Brett Pitman crashed home his 13th goal of the season last night – as well as having a penalty kick saved in AFC Bournemouth’s 1-1 draw away to Barnet.
Pitman’s stunning first half strike was his eleventh in League Two this season but his second penalty miss in a couple of weeks cost his team top place in the division as Rochdale moved above them by one point following a 3-0 success at Bradford for their sixth away win in seven games.
Pitman had equalised in the 44th minute in a fine easy-on-the-eye game of good passing. It was against the run of play that Pitman yet again produced a moment of magic to level the scores. The former Island under-18 cap crashed home an unstoppable right-foot shot following a teasing cross in from the left.
