TRUST and legal professionals this week learned how the outcome of Jersey’s most expensive court case could affect the way they do business in future.

An audience of about 100 attended a conference at the Royal Yacht Hotel to hear what impact the Alhamrani case was likely to have on how they handle trust protectors.

The case concluded in September with an out-of-court settlement after a trial that was actually in court for 103 days.

A mega-wealthy Saudi family were embroiled in a courtroom battle over a £120 million fortune.

Tuesday’s conference was arranged by law firm Carey Olsen and was designed to assist professionals to understand some of the issues raised relating to protectors.
