Curtis Warren
NOTORIOUS gangster Curtis Warren was jailed for 13 years yesterday for his failed attempt to execute Jersey’s biggest ever drugs importation.
Appearing via video link from London’s high-security Belmarsh prison, the feared drugs baron casually read a book as the Royal Court was told of his flawed bid to capture the Jersey drugs scene.
Warren – nicknamed ‘Cocky’ by his underworld associates – then smirked as judge Sir Richard Tucker handed down the sentence, which was only one year short of the maximum.
Five other men, including Warren’s long-time friend John Welsh, were jailed for between five and 12 years for their part in the doomed drugs enterprise.
