Man charged over tiler’s death

A MAN accused of unlawfully killing a former Jersey resident in an alleged assault outside a Guernsey pub has appeared in court.

Alan Baker (23) is accused of the manslaughter of Gary Allen (46). He is also charged with maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm.

The charges follow an incident outside the Albion Tavern in St Peter Port on Wednesday last week. Mr Allen (46) suffered a serious head injury and died two nights later in Southampton Hospital.
