James Hick won the Highest Achievement Trophy for 2009
CHANNEL Islands Eurosurf team manager and coach Roley McMichael is the Jersey Surfboard Club’s Surfers Surfer of the Year.
McMichael accepted the accolade yesterday at the Senior AIB Awards ceremony held at the Watersplash.
James Hick took the Highest Achievement Trophy for 2009, but a narrow margin from Ben Skinner who has been in terrific form of late.
Jersey Surfboard Club president Dave Ferguson said: ‘The awards are thoroughly deserved; Roley worked wonders with everyone in the build-up to the Eurosurf event and it was much appreciated by all involved.’
Other AIB senior award winners, for AIB/Laneez supported events only, went to Sam George (open and senior man), André Le Geyt (masters), Gordon Blake (longboard) and Chantelle Coote (ladies).
