Atlantic rowers delayed again

A TEAM of four women, including three Jersey rowers, who are due to race across the Atlantic have been delayed for the second time in a week.
The Atlantic Waterbabes – Karen Radband, Sarah Medland and Kiley Trehorel-Daly, from Jersey, and Jo Langmead from the UK – were supposed to start the 2,500-mile Woodvale Challenge Atlantic Rowing Race from the Canary Islands last Sunday.
That start date was delayed because all the boats were waiting for a delivery of safety flares and they were supposed to get under way yesterday.
However, strong winds have forced organisers to postpone the race until after the weekend. It is now hoped they will start on Monday at the earliest.
