Caesareans set up a January title decider

CHAMPIONS RWB MacInvest must wait until early in 2010 to see if they will retain the Division I title in the Jersey Hockey Association’s Women’s League.

RWB would have retained the championship on Sunday had they beaten Caesareans Juniors but they forced to come from two goals down to earn draw 2-2.

The champions have now finished their programme and with Caesareans Juniors one point behind them the outcome will be decided when the Juniors play E & Y Quackers in their final league match on Sunday 3 January.

RWB played a strong team passing game on Sunday and they were patient in their build-up and with the Juniors playing on the break it was intriguing to watch.

Both teams had chances to have won the game but they were denied by fine goalkeeping from Brad Gibb (Juniors) and Sylvia Spinola (RWB).
