Andrew Williamson: 'There are lots of things to build'

THE Greenfields secure unit is one of the best of its kind in Britain, according to the man responsible for implementing a new plan to improve child protection services.

Andrew Williamson believes that with minor design changes, the Five Oaks centre can be used to benefit more youngsters and the wider community.

Meanwhile, arrangements as to how child protection services could be accessed out of working hours and during school holidays will be among the subjects under early consideration by Mr Williamson in the weeks ahead.

He also wants to give child care professionals the chance to ‘rebuild confidence’ as he works to implement the recommendations contained in his review of child protection services.
