Sure Jersey’s commercial finance manager, Sara Liddle, discusses the latest development with Victim Support Jersey manager Hazel Jury
VICTIM Support volunteers in the Island will find it easier to keep in touch with each other and with their clients thanks to a partnership with Sure, the Channel Islands service provider of telecommunications company Cable & Wireless.
Sure has provided Victim Support, which provides practical help and emotional support for anyone affected by crime, with 35 pay-as-you-go mobile phone SIM cards for use by volunteers and those they help. The donation will be topped up with further SIMs each quarter as they are required.
The partnership developed earlier this year when Victim Support made an appeal highlighting its need to find better ways to keep in touch confidentially with victims of crime.
One of the organisation’s fundraisers, Colin Taylor, has expressed his gratitude to Sure.
