Fort d’Auvergne Hotel and Felix the Fishing Cat

The postcard of Fort d’Auvergne Hotel showing four images of its development and Felix – The Fishing Cat of Fort d’Auvergne
WHEN retired teacher Alan Jones isn’t tending his garden or writing well-crafted poems he could well be leafing through his postcard collection.
While doing so recently, he came across this one featuring Fort d’Auvergne Hotel at Havre des Pas.
As you can see, four of the images show the development of the hotel, which is about to be demolished to make way for a seven-storey apartment block, from 1925 to 1936.
Strangely, the fifth image is of Felix, an animal apparently known as the Fishing Cat of Fort d’Auvergne. Now there must be a story attached to a name like that.
Does anyone recall Felix and have any information about his relationship with the hotel and his fishing exploits?
