Walkers’ Daytona date with Porsche

Jersey’s James Walker will race the Porsche of J Lowe Racing at Dayton, Florida, next month

JERSEYMAN James Walker is to race at the world-famous Daytona International Speedway in Florida early next month.

Walker will compete for the J Lowe Racing team in the Rolex 24 at Daytona at the end of January driving a Porsche in the GT class.

Walker said: ‘It’s a quiet time for motor racing at this time of the year and it was an offer I just could not refuse when I was asked.

‘It’s going to be extremely challenging that’s for sure because I’ve never driven a Porsche before and I will be racing as part of a five-man team. I’ve not raced in America before either so there is that to look forward to as well. It’s really going to be a baptism of fire and I can not wait for it to start.’
