Beckie Herbert
JERSEY’S Beckie Herbert has moved on to 18 Great Britain caps after featuring in all the team’s test matches in a 4-1 series defeat away to Argentina over the past week.
After scoring in the first game and playing a full match in GB’s 2-1 win on Thursday, Herbert entered the fray as a substitute on Friday in the fifth and final game, which resulted in a 3-1 defeat.
The 23-year-old Leicester Hockey Club player started in two games while featuring as a substitute in the other three against the number two ranked nation in the world.
GB match coach Danny Kerry said following the last-game defeat: ‘As a team, if you only play for half the match you’ll lose. We were rightly behind at half-time and in the second half we got the goal and played better, but the damage had already been done.’
