JERSEY teenager Scott Clayton’s hopes of back-to-back titles in under-16 tennis tournaments ended yesterday morning.

The 15-year-old singles and doubles winner in Malta recently, was beaten two-straight in the 16 and under Grand Prix in Nottingham by second seed Joshua Page with the Hampshire player winning both games 6-4.

Clayton, who won his titles in Malta last Friday, said: ‘Joshua was a very good player, it was a hard match and I had a few chances in the second set to win but did not take them.

‘This past couple of weeks has been a very good experience. Malta was fantastic because I played against the number 30 seed in Europe while the Nottingham tournament was the leading players from around the country.’
