It was farewell to the Pav. Happy memories for thousands of Islanders spanning several generations were finally reduced to dust in November 2001. After years of debate, delays and unsuccessful protests aimed at saving what was once the West Park Pavilion and most recently the Inn on the Park nighspot – and always known affectionately as the ‘Pav’ was demolished to make way for a new development of flats.
